NewsVolvo Car Ireland issue July 1 pricesIrelandCarTrade.com, 06.06.08Volvo Car Ireland has issued its post July 1st car pricing, in line with Government changes to the rates of VRT and road tax. The highlights of Volvo’s new price list include substantial price falls for the excellent range of diesel engines and a new 2.5 litre turbocharged 200 bhp Flexifuel engine for S80 & V70 - which benefit from the €2,500 VRT reduction for environmentally friendly engines. The highly efficient D5 engine in the Volvo XC90, mean that the much acclaimed 7-seater is in Band F for VRT and Road Tax for both manual and geartronic versions. As a result, the most popular version of the XC90, the D5 Geartronic, will only see a modest increase in price and road tax (road tax will be €1,000 p.a. after July 1 compared with €861 before). "In recent years Volvo has enjoyed a strong diesel mix, with 50% of all Volvos sold being diesel, the result of having good diesel engines. That will increase, but I am pleased that for key models we are able to offer customers a choice of diesel, petrol and flexifuel engines at similar prices, so customers can choose based on their preference and needs" David Baddeley, Managing Director, Volvo Car Ireland, said.
